Demotivational Inflation

Here we owe you a short explanation: in the Strangers' World (1930), the effect of postwar reparation on Germany is much softer than in OTL aka Real History. Thus, no billions to burn - less unwise decisions, less reasons for hyperinflation. And healthier economics by the end of the decade.

Demotivational Bose

Subhas Chandra Bose aka Netaji was one of the most prominent Indian nationalist leaders who attempted to gain India's independence from British rule by force during the waning years of World War II with the help of the Axis powers.

In OTL*, Bose is alleged to have died in a plane crash at Taipei, Taiwan, on 18 August 1945 while en route to Tokyo. His death remains a mystery.

In the Strangers' World, he survived two wars to become the leader of Pro-Japanese Free State of India. By 1972, he's still holding the office.

Demotivational Chamberlain

Many good people use to think that Mr. Chamberlain, speaking at the Heston aerodrome and referring to his Munich accomplishments, declared "peace in our time". Actually, he used a slightly different, less prayer-book expression a bit later on the same day, speaking outside Downing Street, 10. Here's the exact quote:

My good friends, for the second time in our history, a British Prime Minister has returned from Germany bringing peace with honour. I believe it is peace for our time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Go home and get a nice quiet sleep.

Demotivational Surrender

On May 7, 1945, the European conflict of World War II ended when Germany signed an unconditional surrender at Allied headquarters in Rheims, France.

Paul Ludwig Hans Anton von Beneckendorff und von Hindenburg (1847-1934), German Field Marshal during World War I and (in OTL), second president of the Weimar Republic (1925–34). In the Strangers' World, he's been talked out of running for presidency.

Days after the first bomb was detonated on January 27, 1951, the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce issued a stream of press releases excitedly describing the new testing grounds as one of the many attractions Las Vegas had to offer. As one official described, "The angle was to get people to think the explosions wouldn't be anything more than a gag."

1930: Junkers Demotivational Poster

The airliner featured above is the G 38 Deutschland, original certificate number D-2000, designed and built by Junkers Flugzeug- und Motorenwerke AG, Germany.

In OTL, she made her maiden flight on November 6, 1929, initiated regularly scheduled service between Berlin and London on July 1, 1931, underwent extensive modernisation in 1931-32 (number of passengers increased to 30), and crashed near Dessau in 1936.

In the Strangers' World (1930), she had larger capacity right from the start and was pressed into regular service as early as in Summer 1930 - with disastrous results, although.
