Here we owe you a short explanation: in the Strangers' World (1930), the effect of postwar reparation on Germany is much softer than in OTL aka Real History. Thus, no billions to burn - less unwise decisions, less reasons for hyperinflation. And healthier economics by the end of the decade.

Her Fragrance
Vivre, a Molyneux perfume created in 1931, was relaunched forty years later, in 1971. Just in time to be mentioned in our "Opera" chapter.
Top notes are aldehydes, coriander, green leaves and bergamot; middle notes are
iris, orange blossom, jasmine, hiacynth, ylang-ylang, lily-of-the-valley and
rose; base notes are leather, sandalwood, tonka bean, oakmoss, vetiver and
myrrh.

1930: Real Calender!
1930's perpetual calendar with steel chrome plated frame, wooden back and base with glass front panel. Found this at Greenwich antique market and picked up a nice bargain, it is in full working order, just needs red masking to be refreshed.

Austin-Healey Sprite Revisited
Years ago, we talked about Mark's little car. No loose talk today, just some pictures:

Demotivational Marc Bolan
I could have loved you girl
Like a planet
I could have chained your heart
To a star
But it really doesn't matter at all
No it really doesn't matter at all
Life's a gas,
I hope it's gonna last

Real Vienna: Two Stations
The Nordbahnhof (Imperial and Royal Northern railway station) was built during the construction of the Northern railway. It was opened on 6 January 1838. The new station building was inaugurated on 15 November 1865. In the days of Austria-Hungary, the Nordbahnhof was one of the most significant stations in Europe and Vienna's primary railway stations, connecting Vienna with Brno, Prague and Warsaw. For many immigrants, it was the door to Vienna.
During World War II, the station was severely damaged by bombs and subsequently fell into disuse; it was finally demolished in 1965. The new building was constructed directly at Praterstern for logistical reasons and was opened on 1 June 1959 as Bahnhof Praterstern. On 1 September 1975, it was renamed Wien Nord.

In the Strangers' World, the old Nordbahnhof remains in its old place. But there some visions of another world where it is replaced by a nondescript barn-like structure.

1930: Introducing Marx. Real Marx
In the Strangers' World (1930) Wilhelm Marx, a German Centre Party politician, won the 1925 presidential elections. As the head of state, he fully supports the Grand Coalition government led by Gustav Stresemann.
In OTL*, Marx was Chancellor of the German Reich twice, from 1923 to 1925 and again from 1926 to 1928, and also served briefly as minister president of Prussia in 1925. He lost the presidential election to Paul von Hindenburg.

The Lost Camera
On April 13, 1972, Mark buys an Icarex as a replacement for the camera he left several months before in some murky club. What camera? We believe it was the Leica IIIf, a little wonder of precision and reliability.
Introduced in 1950, it was essentially a IIIC with the addition of flash synchronization. Underneath the shutter speed is a ring for flash delay setting for flash bulbs. Earlier cameras are referred to as "Black Dial" or simply "BD" cameras, later ones are " Red Dial" or "RD" cameras.
Another feature was added in 1954, the self timer. It can be readily identified by the large self timer arm on the front wind side of the camera. These are referred to as IIIF RD ST cameras, or occasionally as IIIF D/A cameras.
It should be noted that any IIIF camera could be sent to the factory and upgraded with a self timer.
Other variations include Canadian examples produces in Midland, Ontario (shown above), and black finish cameras for the military (below).
